HORSEBACK TOURS INCLUDE TRANSFER FROM SAN JUAN DEL SUR
Rancho Chilamate is located 10km south of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
Driving Instructions:
From San Juan, take the main road out of town. Turn right at the first major turn off (if you get to PALI, you’ve gone too far). The road turns to gravel… continue on.. and take the left at the next Y. Follow signs to Ostional. Continue on for 7 km until you reach flatter ground and see a baseball diamond on your left hand side. We have a sign there. The green gate is the entrance to our neighborhood, Las Fincas. The gate is closed, BUT NOT LOCKED during daylight hours. We are then 1km down the road. It is a well marked entrance with large white house. Welcome!
By Local Bus
The local bus travels up and down the dirt road to Ostional from San Juan del Sur. Make sure the bus says Ostional, as several buses from the market in San Juan del Sur also go to Rivas.
Currently there are only 3 buses per day from San Juan to our turn off: 1pm, 4pm and 5pm
Timing is road dependent but it’s about 40 minutes down the road to Escamequita, where you’ll get off at the baseball diamond.Twenty Cordobas (C$20), the equivalent of $1 US dollar will get you to the entrance of Las Fincas. From there it’s 1 km down the road to the ranch. If we know you’re coming, we’ll pick you up at the the gate.
